Why Smart regions? A Smart Region depends on smart stakeholders, population, knowledge and resources and governance, in the end intends to offer to its inhabitant’s well-being more efficiently. If we think that in 2050 80% of worldwide population will live in cities we understand why the dissemination of this concept is definitely important towards a sustainable world.
In this session we will discuss how the natural resources integrated in more efficient buildings, new standards of life, better focused research and more efficient and secure communication with the grid lead us to smart strategies to a better world. This is a contribute to future Smart Regions. We hope that attendants can also contribute with ideas for new avenues of research to this important topic.
